Ticket #4984, comment 8
initial v1 1 Hi there! 1 Hi there![[BR]] 2 2 3 I know it is an old ticket but I encountered similar problem: 4 5 3 6 Host: Vector (Slackware 13.47), Linux kernel 3.11.1. 4 7 Guest: Windows 2003 standard. 5 Virtual Box is 4.1.8 8 Virtual Box is 4.2.8 9 10 6 11 Guest has one ethernet interface which is bridged to eth1 on the host. Eth1 has a fix IP range routed through ppp0. I assigned 3 IP addresses to the guest, 2 out of the fix IP pool and 1 local IP. Guest runs email server on the two fix IPs. 12 13 7 14 The problem is, that the bridge losing connection to the internet over time. The guest still can access everything out there, but there are no more incoming connections. Can't even ping the guest from the internet. Sometimes it takes an hour to fail, sometimes works for half a day without hiccup. 15 16 8 17 The strange thing is, that locally from the same subnet I can access the guest. 18 19 9 20 When I tried to restart the guest from the saved state, it doesn't work. I have to shut down the guest, stop the VM and reboot to make it working again.
