Description (last modified by )
Hello , I several times tried to install Windows 7 RC but it always failed, if I specify more than 1,5 GB main storage. My system has 4 GB main memory installed and the host (Windows XP SP3) uses 3 GB. The installation worked fine with a main memory setting of 1498 MB.

Not "Main storage", but "main memory" (RAM).
This works with VBox 3.2.6.

No, I think he talks about the typical RAM limit on 32-bit hosts. This will be hopefully fixed with VBox 3.3 (no promises yet).

frank: he said "install fails". With limited RAM on 32-bit host (1.5 GB) it won't fail.

He has a Windows XP host and wants to install Windows 7 in a VM. I can really imagine that the VM aborts (I think the reporter was not exact here) with out-of-memory if 1.5GB RAM are assigned to the guest VM. Well, there should be another defect for this so it is most likely a duplicate anyway.
