    1 we pick the current running kernels version for building the GA modules during installation time. not some arbitrary kernel that also may have been installed and may or may not be booted into next. at the time when you installed virtualbox GAs the running kernel was 4.18.0-147.el8.x86_64 and not the newer, later installed 4.18.0-147.8.1.el8_1.x86_64 fron the upgrade. also you need
    2 perl. make, gcc, kernel-devel and seomething related to elf-signing be installed, the install script will suggest you the different distro-dependend elfsign packages.
