Description

Running macOS 10.15 Beta Catalina as guest on Virtualbox 6.0.10. When I try to install Guest Additions CD running VBoxDarwinAdditions.pkg it says "system extension blocked". If I disable Gatekeeper with "sudo spctl --master-disable" then it says "The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

  1. You set your HostType as Windows. Are you running a Hackintosh? OSX guests are only supported on Apple hardware (which you do not seem to have). See: Mac OS X guest on a Windows Host.
  1. 10.15 is still in beta, aka not supported. You should not open tickets for not supported OSes.
  1. It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved in the forums, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".
  1. You were supposed to follow these steps when you filed the bug, and provide a VBox.log. That would have cleared my 1st point beyond any doubt:

Attach a (full) log file ("Machine" menu/"Show Log" in the main VirtualBox Manager window) straight away to save time for you and for us. The log file contains a lot of useful information about both the host and the guest systems as well as information about what happened during a particular machine run. Please do not cut and paste it.
