Running VBox prevents notebook from switching into sleeping mode

Description
Running VBox (any guest) prevents notebook from switching into sleeping mode.
It looks like Windows can't set on pause or VBox fails to catch that signal from OS. May it be very exclusive usage of CPU by VBox?
For e.g., you can start compiling kernel in guest FreeBSD and try to switch notebook into sleeping mode to see it fails to.

See if this is related to #12063. There are several more tickets open related to sleep (like #15963 and #15307), but this seems to be the most relevant one. And about a dozen duplicates...
