Description
Hello.
I'm using as host Macbook pro OS X version 10.8.5. I've experienced the problem with Linux Mint 13 and 15 as guests.
If I use the laptops's touchpad, everything works fine. However if I use a external pointer device, the VM hangs as soon as its window looses focus. As soon as I touch the laptop's touchpad it comes back and resumes functioning normally.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.

Do you pass an external pointer device as USB device into the VM? Just in case, don't do that. VBox emulates its own virtual pointer device.
The VBox.log file of such a VM is missing.
