Description
My System Configuration
- MB: Asus P8Z77 V-Pro
- CPU: Intel Core i7 - 3770 @ 3.4Ghz
- OS: Windows 8 Pro (64 bit)
I am trying to use Virtual Box to install Ubuntu 12.10. The Ubuntu installer failed to launch. The log mentioned that it failed to detect Hardware Assisted Virtualization (HAV).
A look into the BIOS showed the following:
Intel Virtualization Technology - Enabled
Execute Disable Bit (XD) - Enabled
To give it a try I "Disabled" XD.
After that Virtual Box detected that I have Virtualization "Enabled". And the install process went on.
Further I have Hyper-V enabled. I am not sure if these two technologies are conflicting.
