#13886 duplicate Triple fault/guru meditiation with 64-bit guest OS Andrew Henle
Description

Running VirtualBox 4.3.22 r98236 on a Solaris 11.2 host, hardware is an older IBM x366 (8863) with four Intel Xeon 7040 CPUs and 48GB of RAM.

All 64-bit guest operating systems quickly fail with a triple fault/guru meditation error.

The problem I'm having seems different enough from all the other triple fault bugs I've looked at that I think it warrants a look.

I've tried backrev'ing to an earlier version of VirtualBox, and instead of the guest OS failing with a triple fault, the error was propagated to the host OS and the entire box panic'd. I can't try a test build for a Solaris host because the link at https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds is broken and is a link to a build older than the current stable 4.3.22 98236 build.

#1146 worksforme Failed to create the host network interface VirtualBox Host Inteface 1 Andrew Stewart
Description

Background info:

Was running VBox 1.5.4, unwisely decided to uninstall and install previous 1.5.2 version. Once installed, the following error occurs when trying to create a new Host interface adapter:

Failed to create the host network interface VirtualBox Host Inteface 1

SetupDiCallClassInstaller (DIF_INSTALLDEVICE) failed (0x00000002).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: Host Interface: IHost {81729c26-1aec-46f5-b7c0-cc7364738fdb}

Have sinced tried uninstalling Vbox 1.5.2 and reinstalling 1.5.4 but the same error results. Cannot create any host adapters at this point.

I am running WinXP SP 2 with the latest critical updates applied.
