| #15309 | obsolete | windows 10 guest freezes on OSX 10.11 host | ||
| Description |
This issue was raised in forum: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=77176 I've experienced this issue for several months Freeze can occur at any time, at startup or after several hours functioning OK. Interaction with the VM by any mean (keyboard, mouse, etc.) is no longer possible; even sending the shutdown signal does not help, only powering off the machine. Attached is the log file in a day when Windows 10-64 freezed twice. Thanks |

| #15307 | duplicate | VirtualBox wakes sleeping laptop | ||
| Description |
Running VirtualBox for Homestead Vagrant (so Linux virtual machine) on Windows 10. Shut laptop or press power button and laptop goes to sleep. Shortly thereafter it wakes. Also reported here: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=69723 Running powercfg -lastwake I get: Wake Source Count - 1
Wake Source [0]
Type: Wake Timer
Owner: [PROCESS] \Device\Harddisk\Volume5\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxSVC.exe
VBox v. 5.0.16 Homestead v. 0.4.2 Vagrant 1.8.1 I think this is VBox, but I could open reports on these other services as well. |

| #15306 | worksforme | Error ID: BLKCACHE_IOERR while attempting to do a Windows 10 PC Reset (failed) | ||
| Description |
Hello, I am running a Win 10 VM on a Win 7 host. VirtualBox hung and could not recover. I had to kill VirtualBox, not just the VM, with Task Manager. After restart Win 10 is trying to fix itself. I had it to the "Reset PC" step where it is reinstalling the OS. I just received the following error message from VirtualBox: An error has occurred during virtual machine execution! The error details are shown below. You may try to correct the error and resume the virtual machine execution. The I/O cache encountered an error while updating data in medium "ahci-0-0" (rc=VERR_IO_CRC). Make sure there is enough free space on the disk and that the disk is working properly. Operation can be resumed afterwards. Error ID: BLKCACHE_IOERR Severity: Non-Fatal Error The VM has 60 GB, and the host drive (an external hdd) has over 2TB free. This has proved to be fatal; the Windows 10 VM has so far not been recoverable. I could not get the VM to shut down gracefully, so I hope the end of the log file is still usable. I have submitted this to the forum, where I was advised to submit it here. Thanks for your help, Gene |
