#12618 obsolete Can't install 64 bit client on Debian 64-bit host (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT) MarkP
Description

Hi,

I have a Dell GX620 with an Intel Pentium D 930 installed. Virtualization is turned ON in the BIOS. Running VirtualBox 4.3r6.

Box has 4GB of RAM installed (maxed out for this hardware).

I am trying to install Openfiler 2.99 (64-bit) as a VM, and somewhere during the CD boot process, I get a Critical Error.

I have also tried to install a Vanilla Debian 64-bit image, and I get another Critical Error.

Do I just have a hardware limitation and can't install 64-bit VMs under this debian host?

Thanks,

Mark

#12717 obsolete Virtual Box conflicts with ASIO driver in Win 8.1 MarkT
Description

I have an Echo Midi Mia sound card which uses ASIO drivers. When I am running a virtual machine (sound disabled), the ASIO drivers on the host stop working; either I just get no sound, or I cannot select the normal outputs. In order to get them working again I have to close the virtual machine. Sometimes this isn't enough and I have to restart the physical machine. I have the latest drivers for the sound card
