| #9367 | obsolete | Excessive messages generated by vboxwebsrv | ||
| Description |
vboxwebsrv that is run by /etc/init.d/vboxweb-service writes 2 logs to /var/log/messages for every successfull authentication attempt: Aug 3 17:05:15 fserver vboxwebsrv: pam_sm_authenticate: Called Aug 3 17:05:15 fserver vboxwebsrv: pam_sm_authenticate: username = [vbox] This leads to flooding of /var/log/messages, especially when vboxwebsrv is used by phpVirtualbox. Suggested fix: log only failed authentication attempts by default, OR allow user to specify different log facility/priority. |
