#4875 invalid AMD Turion MT-40 not properly detected? Marcus Schätzle
Description

Until some days ago I had a Turion MT-40 CPU (mobile single core 64Bit) in my PC. Now that I switched to an Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6300, I realise that the option of installing a 64-Bit guest was not offered for the Turion, even though it is a 64Bit CPU, and I used to have a VBox Version that was supposed to offer this option. Strange enough, I was offered the option to activate AMD-V, which is to my knowledge not available for the Turion MT and ML lines for socket 754, but only for the Turion MK für socket S1.

Host was (and is still after the CPU change) Windows XP. I don't list my guests here for the reason that they have nothing to do with this case.

#5016 obsolete guest freezes when using shared folders and the guest has more than one processor assigned to it Marcus Schätzle
Description

I refer to this post http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=19139, Sander van Leeuwen suggested opening a new ticket, and actually I found no ticket for this yet (I might be mistaken).

In my case, when I assign more than one processor to my Linux guests (Windows XP host), the guest will freeze when copying a large file from the host to the guest via shared folders. I can reproduce this via copying a thunderbird tar file (about 300 MB) from the shared folder to my home folder. The guest will more or less freeze instantly. Last time I tested this was with a Ubuntu 9.04 guest, but it happened also on a Gentoo guest. The guest freeze happens also when I simply access folders inside the shared folder. It may work for a while, but after a couple of tries it will freeze again. When I leave it to one processor assigned to the guest, these freezes do not occur.
