#3939 obsolete blue screen on winxp if vmware is installed robertr64
Description

I run VirtualBox configured to use VMWare-style physical disk partitions, one each for Windows and Linux, so I can switch back and forth with one as the host and one as guest. Generally it works well, but on the XP side, if VMWare is installed, I get a blue screen shortly after boot-up after it tries to load the c:\windows\system32\vmx86.sys driver. If I rename this driver, it boots up ok, but VirtualBox is very slow on the XP side compared with VMWare. Linux works fine and other OSes such as Beos seem to run at normal speed, or slightly slower than VMWare.
