| #15554 | obsolete | EFI guests hang during boot and VirtualBox reads from hard drive at full speed | ||
| Description |
I can only replicate this issue on EFI guests. I've tried both a Ubuntu Trusty and a Windows 10 guest. Both display this behaviour. At some point (usually during boot, but sometimes after), the guest seems to hang. When I run iotop on the host, I can see the VirtualBox process for that guest is reading something at 200-300 MB/s. No idea what it's reading :) If I click 'File -> Close' in the VirtualBox window, the entire window freezes. The only way I can shut off the guest is by clicking the close button of the window and waiting for 'Oracle VM VirtualBox is nog responding'. Then I have to click Force Quit to close the window and abort the VM. I have no issues with my BIOS guests. Let me know if I can provide any further information. I've attached the VBox.log of the freezing Windows EFI machine. |
