#2405 fixed NAT network on Adapter not working on Windows GUEST jwithana
Description

I opened a new ticket as a follow on to #2286 due to the confusion.

I Cannot access the internet from Guest after upgrading from VB 2.0.0 to 2.0.2. In the Win Guest, the network shows as connected but no sites can be accessed by IE or Firefox. Firefox on the Ubuntu host works fine.

I tried to downgrade back to 2.0.0 but this still does not fix the issue.

Can you PLEASE tell me any tests you would like me to run on the UBUNTU HOST or WINDOWS GUEST and post the output?

#2406 obsolete pdf documentation yantux
Description

pdf documentation contain info aboun installing VirtualBox on Linux. i.e. 'usermod -a -G virtualbox user', but in some linux distribution usermod utility did n ot support -a/--append option. Because, if linux user is not has good knowledge, then he delete -a option. After that user lose own groups and get obnly virtualbox group. May be add info in pdf and message box, that admin can use not onlu usermod, but and gpasswd? Because it utility more easy than usermod.

Thank you.

Best regards, Yan.

#2407 obsolete Driver issue with CD/DVD passthrough with Windows host and windows guest Kevin Shea
Description

I have a windows XP host and windows XP guest and have created a VM with a passthrough DVD writer.

When booting the VM I get the following sequence of events: 1) first boot - VBOX CDROM detected OK, everything works as expected including burning 2) second boot (after normal shutdown) - driver conflict on VBOX CDROM detected.

After uninstalling the driver and rebooting I end up back at stage 1 again, and so on. The same VM works perfectly and repeatedly when the host is linux (Ubuntu 8.04).

The specfic windows error is: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because there is a duplicate device already running in the system. (Code 42)". (nothing useful on MSDN - they helpfully suggest rebooting the PC...)

Happy for this to be a minor issue - my VM will be used primarily with the Ubuntu host and rarely used for burning disks with.
