Host: Vista Business 64 SP2 Mem: 8192 MB

Guest: SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 OS Type: Other Linux Base Memory: 2048 MB VT-x: Enabled PAE/NX: Disabled Video Memory 32 MB 3D Acceleration: Enabled IDE: PIIX4 Additional SCSI: (BusLogic) with one Virtual HDD

After configuring installation options and saving them it proceeds with installation, first cd is inserted, starts copying packets to hard drive and then VirtualBox GUI crashes. Windows report error as: "GUI stopped responding and was closed". Even though VM is still running as cd-rom drive spins and hdd is accessed, but i am unable to connect to failed session as state of VM in VitualBox is "Aborted".

Windows event manager also records:

Faulting application VirtualBox.exe, version 3.0.6.0, time stamp 0x4aa7eccd, faulting module VBoxVMM.dll, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4aa7ec75, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000000000088e14, process id 0x14e8, application start time 0x01ca3877044e89f5.

Description

Host: OS X 10.10.1 Guest: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit USB device: Nokia Lumia 630

Steps:

  1. Attach USB device (Lumia 630) to guest
  2. Physically unplug USB device without removing it from guest first (other option: restart phone without removing it from guest first)

Result: VM freezes, and needs to be force quit

Nothing shows up in log.
