| #11045 | obsolete | VirtualBox 4.2 crashes with heap corruption on AMD A10 CPU | ||
| Description |
I am using an HP laptop with an AMD A10 CPU and I am trying to get a VM working with a version of XP, running on Win 7 64-bit. It is crashing while doing some patch updates, after Win XP installed with no problems. According to the Visual Studio 2010 debugger it is getting a heap corruption on line 51 of free.c, which is trying to check the retval that was just returned from a call to HeapFree(). I was earlier trying to use the latest 4.1.x version, but it was also crashing while doing this. Upgrading to 4.2 did not fix the problem, so I am filing this bug. This is a Pavilion G7 laptop, if you care to see the CPU being used. I am going to attach a dump file to the ticket from Visual Studio 2010. It is quite large, so I hope it allows me to do it. |

| #11053 | obsolete | Windows 7 screen rotation sometimes crashes VirtualBox | ||
| Description |
I have a Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit guest VM running in VirtualBox on windows 7. The ubuntu workspace switching command and the Windows 7 screen rotation command are the same - Control-Alt-arrow. In seamless mode I accidentally get the screen rotation if the active window is a windows program (Outlook, it's a corporate environment). That's not a bug, the problem is that the windows screen rotation crashes virtualbox about 1 out of 5 times this happens. I have dual monitors, one horizontal, one vertical, not sure if that is related. |
