#12471 obsolete Deadlock using gconv / iconv MKechlibar
Description

VBox 4.3.4, Guest system: openSuse 13.1 32-bit.

Any program which uses gconv library will deadlock when invoking iconv_open. Using debugger, I was able to extract the following two stacks of program threads which illustrate the problem.

Thread [1] is somehow created by VirtualBox (at least method names indicate so). Thread [15] is thread of my own program, which attempts to access gconv/iconv in order to convert strings.

#9013 duplicate Host-Only Adapter Auto Disable MKrieger
Description

In Windows having a Host-Only Network Adapter has some annoying side effects (Unidentified Network considered public, warning symbol, no off line mode, ...).

So I'd like to suggest that the Host-Only Adapters on the host should behave as if no network cable is present until they are actually connected to a guest. This would remove the annoyances until they are necessary.
