| #7924 | fixed | kernel compilation problem on self made kernel => Fixed in SVN | ||
| Description |
I have compile my own kernel on Ubuntu 10.04 32 bits with: fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-20101227 kernel-image kernel-headers I have installed the kernel .deb packages and I've restarted the system with new kernel without problems but when I execute this: $ sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup * Stopping VirtualBox kernel modules * done. * Uninstalling old VirtualBox DKMS kernel modules * done. * Trying to register the VirtualBox kernel modules using DKMS * Failed, trying without DKMS * Recompiling VirtualBox kernel modules * Look at /var/log/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong $ cat /var/log/vbox-install.log Makefile:170: *** Error: /usr/src/linux (version 2.6.36.2) does not match the current kernel (version 2.6.36.2-20101226). Alto. $ uname -r 2.6.36.2-20101226 But the folders exist: /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.36.2-20101226/ /lib/modules/2.6.36.2-20101226/ I've tried with $ export KERN_DIR=/usr/src/linux-headers-`uname -r` But it also doesn't work. |

| #17447 | fixed | Drag and drop error when copying folder from WinXP guest to Win10 host -> fixed in 5.2.20 | ||
| Description |
Bug was first observed with VirtualBox 5.2.2 and now 5.2.4 This did not happen on VirtualBox 5.1.x releases. Host OS: Windows 10, version 1709, build 16299.192 Guest OS: Windows XP SP3 (with latest POSReady 2009 updates applied) Log files are attached. Look for "DnD: Error opening/creating guest file ..." How to reproduce the bug (on Windows XP guest):
...you should get: Drag and drop error from host (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND). Fehlercode:VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005) Komponente:GuestWrap Interface:IGuest {13a11514-402e-022e-6180-c3944de3f9c8} This bug might be related on how Internet Explorer 8 handles the destination folder when downloading from Microsoft Update Catalog. Bug does not occur when using Firefox ESR 52.5.3 IE 8 version used: Refer to "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for WES09 and POSReady 2009 (KB4052978)" German (this update is installed): http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/11/ie8-windowsxp-kb4052978-x86-embedded-deu_47bd241186dc8e1200e5971c414d4b0035d8b122.exe English (for reference only): http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/11/ie8-windowsxp-kb4052978-x86-embedded-enu_655de71433b5df451bbe435cd0912865302139f6.exe |

| #7254 | duplicate | 3D and 2D video acceleration are greyed out and disabled | ||
| Description |
Hi guys, I have being trying to find the solution to this problem I have been having with Virtualbox all over the net but I can't seem to find the answer. Hope you guys can help. Firstly, here are the details: Host: Windows 7 Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD 4550 Guest: Ubuntu 10.04 VirtualBox 3.2.6 I have been trying to enable the visual effects in ubuntu and set it to 'extra', but ubuntu keeps on telling me that the 'display effect could not be enabled'. I think the root cause of this problem is that fact that I cannot enable the 2D or the 3D acceleration in VirtualBox 3.2.6. The 2 boxes cannot be ticked; they are greyed out. Does anyone know how I can enable them? Also everytime I start virtualbox, this error message pops up 'loadlibrary failed with error 126: The specific module could not be found'. After about 10 seconds, it disappears and virtualbox starts up fine. Also the same error message pops up everytime i click on settings in virtualbox. Also I'm confused as to how I can attached my vbox log file onto this ticket? I don't see any submit attachment button on this ticket... |
