| #2268 | fixed | Update vm description while running | ||
| Description |
I use the vm description to take notes about their updates and maintenance. For example:
To do this I take notes on a host editor and updates the description after stopping the vm. I guess it would be valuable to make this editable while the vm is running. Maybe even more valuable would be some kind of "ChangeLog" that could automatically save hardware definitions changes and also custom entries like the ones above. Just another idea... ;) Best Regards, Guilherme |

| #2269 | fixed | Install failure for Ubuntu 8.04 on Vista 32-bit host -> fixed in SVN/2.1.4 | ||
| Description |
Using this ISO: ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386 Very plain setup as I am new to VirtualBox. I have a WindowsXP guest running and working perfectly. Upon starting the installation, the initial Ubuntu screen comes up to start the install. When going forward with the installation I see the 'loading linux kernel' bar and when it disappears the Vb screen goes black and my whole machine locks up requiring a hard reset. Being new here, I am not sure about the information I need to provide. I do not know which component to choose for this ticket. If anyone can give me guidance I will be happy to oblige. |

| #2270 | fixed | Large page problems for RedHat 5 guest applications | ||
| Description |
I am running VirtualBox 2.0.2 32-bit on Windows XP SP3 with an Intel Core2 Duo T7300 CPU. I installed RedHat Enterprise Linux (actually oracle Enterprise Linux which is a rebadged version) with kernel version 2.6.18-92. Linux detects the HugePageSize as 4 Mb (as per cat /proc/meminfo) which is incorrect; it should be 2 Mb (this works correctly under VMware). Asa result, several pieces of software that use large pages do not work correctly. Since the page size is detected properly when installed on real hardware and also within VMware on the same host it would seem this is due to some issue with VirtualBox. I have tried with both software and hardware virtualisation but it behaves thesame. |
