#15823 obsolete openSUSE packages have bad libvpx dependency tgpfeiffer
Description

I am on openSUSE Tumbleweed and installed the repository from http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/13.2/virtualbox.repo as described on the website. However, trying to install any one of VirtualBox-4.3, 5.0 or 5.1 fails with:

Problem: nothing provides libvpx.so.1()(64bit) needed by VirtualBox-<version>

Note that I have libvpx3 and libvpx4 installed, but it looks like those only provide libvpx.so.3 and libvpx.so.4, respectively. An older libvpx package is not available in the openSUSE repositories.

#15820 obsolete VirtualBox 5.0.26 and higher will not start on Ubuntu viv
Description

Problem is documented here https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=79040 VirtualBox fails to start up. 5.0.24 works fine but any version later than that will not start - Failed to create the VirtualBoxClient COM object. The VBoxSVC process seg faults and I have a core file, 23M, just need to know how to get it to someone. Problem occurs on Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04. I've tried 5.0.26, 5.1.2, 5.1.4 and they all behave the same way.

#15816 fixed Fedora 24: SELinux is preventing vboxdrv.sh from write access on the directory /etc/udev/rules.d. -> should be fixed in releases higher than 5.1.4 Billamay77
Description

Installing VirtualBox-5.1.x86_64 5.1.4_110228_fedora24-1 on Fedora 24 64 bit I get:

SELinux is preventing vboxdrv.sh from write access on the directory /etc/udev/rules.d.

***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests **************************

If you believe that vboxdrv.sh should be allowed write access on the rules.d directory by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# ausearch -c 'vboxdrv.sh' --raw | audit2allow -M my-vboxdrvsh
# semodule -X 300 -i my-vboxdrvsh.pp
