Host OS: Ubuntu 8.10 GNU/Linux; Guest OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 Windows 2003 R2 guest aborts at the login screen when the guest has a network adaptor attached to NAT and the host machines network adaptor is down/not connected.
Repeatable: Yes Work around: Before starting the VM set the "Attached To" field for the adaptor to not attached. This allows the VM to start and operate normally. |

| #3971 | fixed | defaults for OS/2 guests should have a serial port enabled | ||
| Description |
I'm using an OS/2 ACP2 guest, which is the only OS/2 version you officially support. The installer assumes there is always at least one serial port. If not, COM.SYS / VCOM.SYS will complain and prompt the user to press enter. This is admittedly a bug in the OS/2 installer, but it can easily be worked around in virtual box by simply adding a serial port. It would smooth out the OS/2 installation experience is that was one of the default setting for OS/2 guests. |

| #3973 | fixed | OS/2 guest cannot shut down if guest additions are installed | ||
| Description |
I did a fresh install of OS/2 ACP2 in a VM. Before installing the guest additions, I was able to shut it down, using right-click on desktop, and "shutdown" option. After installing the OS/2 guest additions, it doesn't work anymore. The OS never shuts down. The only way is to CTRL-ALT-DEL, which flushes the file system, but isn't as clean. Note that my OS/2 install was fairly basic, it included only TCP/IP for networking, but not file & print sharing (ie. no lan server) which is known to sometimes cause problems/delays in OS/2 shutdown. I have narrowed down this problem to the vbox guest extensions. |
