I just installed Vitual Box 2.0 on my Vista SP1 64 bit machine VirtualBox-2.0.0-36011-Win_amd64.msi (I had a 1.6 one before).
What happens:
Note: if I create the default 2GB vdi, than there is no problem. So there is a serious memory leak here somewhere. |

| #2101 | fixed | Linux Host, Windows XP quest, running qemu in guest brings down host system | ||
| Description |
I needed to test running a qemu VM in windows, so I fired up an XP VM in Virtual Box and attempted to run qemu from within XP. The windows qemu executable as well as the disk image qemu was operating on were on an ISO mounted as the CD drive for the Windows VM. I tried twice, once with kqemu and once without kqemu. The first time, with kqemu, VirtualBox crashed on qemu startup but did not bring the host down. The second time, without kqemu, starting qemu brought down not only Virtual Box but the host (Ubuntu 8.04), causing a machine reboot. Vbox.log is the second run, which brought down the host Vbox.Log.1 is the first run, which brought down only VirtualBox |
