| #10497 | obsolete | Linux host, "Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file" hangs when navigating to an automounted directory. | ||
| Description |
On a Linux host, in the "Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file" window, virtualbox hangs when trying to navigate to an automounted (NFS+AutoFS) directory. This is in VirtualBox 4.1.14 on a Linux host running the 64-bit Linux kernel version 2.6.38. It happens regardless of whether a virtual machine is running (i.e. it happens even if no virtual machines are running and you use VirtualBox Manager and try to set the virtual CD/DVD disk via "Settings"). The problem is 100% reproducible. To recover: (1) Kill all PIDs associated with VirtualBox, (2) Unload and re-load VirtualBox kernel drivers. |

| #10498 | obsolete | REGRESSION: vbox 4.1 virtual disk read/write operations are UNUSABLY slow | ||
| Description |
I used to have a Windows 7 guest on a ubuntu 11.10 host with virtualbox 3.x and it worked fine. Then I upgraded to VirtualBox 4.1 on the same host. I recreated an IDENTICAL virtual machine from scratch (because of the infamous broken-3D-driver issue which left me with a broken unrecoverable guest, and none of the method described in the manual and in the forum for fixin it worked) and I installed the same Windows 7 guest OS on it, from the same installation CD as my old guest. Everything is exactly the same as before: same guest, same host, virtual disk in the same physical location, same machine settings, only VirtualBox 4.1 instead of 3.x Now the guest is unusably slow. The bottleneck seems to be reading and writing from/to the vdi. I'm not sure whether it's only writing, only reading, or both, I am under the impression it's mainly writing. Whenever the virtual disk is working, the virtualbox process on the host is consuming 100% CPU, and every disk read/write operation in the guest takes ages. It's simply, plainly unusable. |

| #10499 | obsolete | REGRESSION: guest screen becomes black and is only partially redrawn block by block | ||
| Description |
Steps to reproduce:
=> the guest screen is all black. Sometimes, by exitin fullscreen and resizing the window, the guest screen will redraw completely. Sometimes not and it will stay black By moving the mouse cursor in the guest, and clicking here and there, PARTS of the screen (always rectangular regions) are redrawn, but some parts remain black forever. This is a regression in 4.1. It didn't happen in 3.x. |
