| #15965 | obsolete | AC97 audio delays under stress | ||
| Description |
When the VM is stressed in some way, commonly via running a game, the audio ends up with a major delay (~1000-2000ms) and mild choppy-ness. Unknown if this affects the HD and SB16 audio devices as both are non-functional for the used guests. Tested to occur with windows xp (32b) and 2k guests, the 2k guest also cannot use audio acceleration at all as it results in a lack of audio on many formats. Host is windows 10 x64, consistent with different audio devices and Hyper-V enforced. |

| #15961 | fixed | Vboxmanage --audio param are bad (maybe older in PDF) | ||
| Description |
In the actual PDF documentation for VirtualBox v5.1.6 on page 136 we can see : --audio none|null|oss|alsa|pulse: With this option, you can set whether the VM should have audio support, and if so - which type. If I try to use "oss" param per example, it doesn't work and I have an error message : "Vboxmanage.exe: error: Invalid --audio" argument 'oss' My Host is Windows 10 and my guest is Windows XP 32 bits With the command line "VboxManage --help", I can see that : [--audio none|null|dsound] -> on line 139 with VB v5.0.26 By using dsound, it works fine Are params older in documentation (oss|alsa|pulse) ? Is it for other OS than Windows Guest/Host ? Regards |
