| #1874 | fixed | Clonevdi still results in crashing VirtualBox | ||
| Description |
Hi, I make use of VirtualBox version 1.6.2 and when I clone a harddisk (vdi file) I use the following command: D:\Virtual PC (Sun)\VirtualBox\VDI>"c:\Program Files\sun\xVM VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" clonevdi "Harddisk VM Sun.vdi" "Harddisk VM Sun original.vdi" VirtualBox crashes every time at the end of the copy process (though 100% is reached) and generates the message " Sun xVM VirtualBox Interface has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. How can I fix this? |

| #660 | invalid | Cloning Debian Etch guest breaks networking | ||
| Description |
On a Kubuntu Feisty host using VirtualBox 1.5 (and 1.4 before with the same result) I created a Debian Etch guest. Then I cloned the disk and used it to create a new virtual machine, but networking fails in the new machine (eth0 just won't come up). On the original machine, starting networking reports, among other stuff, that eth0 is up at 100MB, Full-Duplex. On the cloned machine it just says: Configuring network interfaces...done. and all I have is lo. If I try ifup eth0, I get:
[boilerplate omitted] I've tried this numerous times, starting from scratch. The same thing happens whether I use NAT or bridging. Things I've tried that have failed to solve the problem:
Haven't tried it with any Guest other than Debian Etch. |

| #5853 | fixed | Cloning of Machines over GUI. | ||
| Description |
It would be great to clone (duplicate) virtual machines (machines and virtual hard disks) directly through the graphical interface and also insert the same. So far that is only possible rather cumbersome via command line. |
