#18198 fixed Disconnect in chapter numbering between PDF and online manual Socratis
Description

The online manual (https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/) starts numbering at the "Preface" as being chapter 1. The PDF on the other hand, has ch. 1 as "First Steps" (which is ch. 2 in the online one).

That's going to make a really awkward situation when quoting and linking specific passages of the manual.

Humble suggestion; remove the numbering from the online manual. It's backwards compatible...

#18230 fixed Can't select the Host's CD drive from the 1st time run wizard, 6.0.x regression -> fixed in 6.0.2 and later Socratis
Description

Create a VM (any). Start it. The 1st time run wizard asks you to select a bootable medium:

Please select a virtual optical disk file or a physical optical drive containing a disk to start your new virtual machine from.

Well, you can't select your host's physical optical drive, your only option is "Empty".

You can't select it in the wizard, but you can select it later on in the "Details" pane and in the VM Settings » Storage, no problem there.

Tested on physical OSX 10.11.6, a Win10 VM and a Mint 19 VM. Works as expected with 5.2.20...

#18282 fixed EFI shell not shown when VMSVGA or VBoxSVGA is chosen. No installation is possible. => fixed in svn Socratis
Description

If the Graphics Controller is not set as a VBoxVGA, and a bootable medium is not provided, then the EFI shell never comes up.

On top of that, none of the following ExtraData are honored if VMSVGA is chosen, the resolution comes up with the "default" 640x480 :

<ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal2/EfiGopMode" value="3"/>
<ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal2/EfiGraphicsResolution" value="1280x1024"/>
<ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal2/EfiHorizontalResolution" value="1280"/>
<ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal2/EfiVerticalResolution" value="1024"/>
