| #3744 | fixed | Ubuntu intrepid/jaunty amd64 guest aborts immediately on startup | ||
| Description |
Host: Fully updated kubuntu 8.04.2 amd64, Vbox version: 2.2.0, Guest version: Both kubuntu intrepid amd64 and kubuntu jaunty beta amd64. I had intrepid amd64 installed when I was running 2.1.x and it ran fine. After upgrading to 2.2.0, the virtual machine aborts right after the "grub loading, press esc to..." screen shows up, where one would expect to see the loading bar. A quick test shows that it happens with the intrepid amd64 liveCD as well as the jaunty beta amd64 liveCD. The x86 versions of these work, as well as both amd64 and x86 of 8.04.2. The main part of the error, pulled from the log file, appears to be this: 00:00:10.206 Guest Log: BIOS: *** int 15h function AX=ec00, BX=0002 not yet supported! 00:00:10.207 Guest Log: BIOS: KBD: unsupported int 16h function 03 00:00:10.420 00:00:10.420 !!Assertion Failed!! 00:00:10.420 Expression: <NULL> 00:00:10.420 Location : /home/vbox/vbox-2.2.0/src/recompiler_new/VBoxRecompiler.c(4274) cpu_abort 00:00:10.420 fatal error in recompiler cpu: triple fault A full log is attached. |

| #3748 | fixed | Unable to COPY from read-only shared folder to Vista guest -> Fixed in SVN/3.0.0 | ||
| Description |
When creating a read-only shared folder and attempting to copy a file from the host (XP Pro) to the guest (specific to Vista), I get the following error: The disk is write-protected. Remove the write-protection or use another disk. To preempt the obvious: there's no problem with file system permissions, there is sufficient read and/or write access to/from the guest. The error doesn't occur when giving the share Full permissions. This is specific to copying into a Vista guest, I have no issues with XP Pro guests. This also occurred in 2.1.4, but I just felt like reporting it just now. |
