| #12193 | duplicate | 4.3.0, Win8 guest, 3D + GAs causes blank screen in guest | ||
| Description |
I updated to VB 4.3.0. In the process of updating my Win8 VM, it booted but at the startup screen I got a flashing view of the normal screen and then... "blank".
Note: Knowing the startup process of Win8, I dragged the screen to the top, entered my password and got in OK to the tiles and then to my desktop. Hitting the "Windows" key twice toggles between blank screen and desktop. I tried to make a video out of it but it comes up black... I have not updated my VM snapshot, it is still with 4.2.18 additions in case you want me to try out something. Host is OSX 10.6.8. |

| #12194 | fixed | 4.3.0, OSX host: Hiding a VM, crashes VM. | ||
| Description |
I have several VMs. After updating to VB 4.3.0 hiding the VM from the Dock (right-click, hide) REALLY hides the VM, i.e. it aborts the VM. Sometimes it takes a hide-show-hide sequence to trigger it. It happens with all the VMs that I've tried so far. Even with a "Live_CD" VM that has no OS installed... Attaching the empty VM log file to keep it simple... |

| #12200 | fixed | Change the way "Install Guest Additions..." is handled -> fixed as of 22 October 2013 (4.3 branch and later) | ||
| Description |
I've seen a lot of people complain that after going to the "Install Guest Additions..." (IGA) menu, the Guest Additions (GAs) are not installed on their guest VMs. This is because they do not realize that the only thing that IGA does is to insert the VB GAs in their CD drive and that additional action is needed to actually install the GAs. I propose to: 1) Have a dialog box with a warning that they there are additional steps to actually have the GAs installed. Optionally a "Do not show this again" checkbox. 2) Change the wording from "Install Guest Additions..." to "Insert Guest Additions CDROM..." |
