#11824 obsolete Choppy sound on host after starting VM edu2004eu
Description

This only happens to me on a Windows 7 host, and at least using an Ubuntu 12.04 x64 VM (not tested with other VMs). But it does not happen with an Ubuntu host.

When I am starting my VM, and after it actually boots, I hear a piano-like sound (one key only). After that sound, all sounds on both the host and the VM are very choppy. I have to disable and re-enable my sound card for the choppyness to disappear.

This piano-like sound only happens on boot, once, sometimes twice, but that's it. Not sure how I can help identify / repro this in more detail.

#4391 fixed Choppy/skippy/stuttering audio and video playback Sam Morris
Description

Since upgrading to VirtualBox 3.0.0, audio and video playback have become unusable with mplayer. Audio will stutter and skip constantly; video will pause for a moment and then catch up, repeatedly.

This does not happen to such a great degree with other audio/video playback programs, but all exhibit the behaviour to a noticeable degree.

My host is 64-bit Vista Home Basic and my guest is Debian using Linux versions 2.6.26 and 2.6.30.

My underlying CPU is a Core i7 920, I've tried changing the number of CPUs in the guest system from 8, to 4, to 1, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

You may consider this a duplicate of #2580; I'm not sure since I didn't have this problem with any prior version of VirtualBox.

#4555 obsolete Cinebench benchmark fails to render goodspeed
Description

The Cinebench benchmark runs, however, issues exist with the rendered scene. Several of the objects (including the "Slimer" facsimile) appear white instead of the proper color. This was run with hardware acceleration turn on.

When the acceleration is turned off, the software rendering performs properly with all objects rendered as expected, albeit slow.

This test was performed on a dual core intel with a GS45 intel integrated graphics chipset.

The Cinebench benchmark is freely available at
