| #11155 | worksforme | Second host-only network stuck on 169.254.x.y | ||
| Description |
(From https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=52404.) In 4.2.2 (and now also in 4.2.4), if I create a second host-only adapter and try to set the IP address to 192.168.66.1 then VirtualBox accepts the input but ignores me. When I reboot the machine, there is a two-minute delay and I find that the adapter has been given an APIPA address that I cannot change. Equally, if I select the adapter in Windows' Control Panel (the host is Server 2008 R2) and try to change IPv4 settings there, I can type in the values but the adapter remains resolutely stuck on the 169.254.x.y. address. This all worked in every version up to 4.2.0 (inclusive). |

| #13776 | invalid | Failed to open a session for the virtual machine vm. VT-x is not available. | ||
| Description |
I'm running Windows 8.1, with Intel Core i5-3570K cpu, Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H motherboard, and Virtual Box 4.3.20. The bios is set to enable virtualization. Using Intel's Processor Identification Utility, I've verified "Intel(R) Virtualization Technology" is "Yes", meaning it's enabled. In VirtualBox 4.3.20, all virtual machines do not start: "VT-x is not available". Rolling back to VirtualBox 4.3.18, all virtual machines work fine. Identification of the virtualization state no longer works for my machine. In addition, I've noticed that VirtualBox---somehow---altered the settings of the virtual machine, specifically the number of processors. It really should never change my settings without my permission. |

| #10462 | invalid | VirtualBox will not Start on Windows 7 64 with i7-960 and 18gb of ram -> BIOS update | ||
| Description |
I installed VirtualBox on two nearly identical machines the only siginificant difference is that one machine has 18GB of ram and the other has 8GB. On the machine with 18GB VirtualBox hangs on startup and no UI is displayed. Runs fine on the 8GB machine. There seems to be no log file I could find on the system to submit |
