#10173 obsolete Mistake with iSCSI authentication causes Segmentation Fault => fixed in svn/next maintenance release Steltek
Description

While toying around with iSCSI support recently, I noticed that VirtualBox crashes very quickly at the slightest problem with the SCSI target data (like wrong authentication credentials).

The UI displays an error stating:

Failed to determine the accessibility state of the medium .

Callee RC: NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED (0x800706BE)

The console where the VirtualBox command was run shows 'Segmentation Fault', the kernel log outputs: [ 6613.591346] VBoxSVC[17042]: segfault at b677b008 ip b73f6626 sp b67783fc error 4 in libc-2.13.so[b737d000+153000] [ 6621.900797] VirtualBox[16970]: segfault at 9d12af8 ip 09d12af8 sp bff4829c error 15

After this crash, it is impossible tostart VirtualBox again until one manually removes all references to the iSCSI volume from the VM's XML config file. (VirtualBox will keep crashing the same way until this is done.)

In addition to that, VirtualBox loses the state of running VMs after this crash (all VMs are shown as 'Powered Off' even though some are running). The only way around this seems to be to shut down all VMs and all VirtualBox related processes, and start everything again.

#10174 obsolete regression - windows xp Sp3 guest with guest additions has crashing flash player on VB4.1.8 ; on VB4.1.6 it works maninred2
Description

I have just installed the virtualbox additions 4.1.8 in a windows xp guest. I have after a newstart attached a DVD .iso with flash content. The start of the content with flash player causes the player to crash.

Yesterday with the same guest and VirtualBox additions4.1.6 installed and running on Virtualbox4.1.8 it was no problem.

So, it is a regression to VB4.1.8 guest additions.

The flash player crash is always reproducible.

#10176 obsolete Upgrade Virtualbox in Win7 64bit failed from 3.2.6 to 4.1.8 kennyw
Description

My Win7 machime is Dell OptiPlex 980 type, and I have used VirtualBox 3.2.6-63113 for a long time. Last week, I tried to upgrade to 4.1.8-75467 {I didn't uninstall Virtualbox-3.2.6 first, instead I only downloaded Virtualbox-4.1.8-75467 and double click the .exe file dirctly. I know I'm stupid not to uninstall old one first, but I do concern it will uninstall my original configure files about virtual machime.}, but it throwed out a warning Window "Installation failed! Error: Fatal error during installation.". After that happened, I could not reinstall Virtualbox-3.2.6 as well. I tried to use MS's Fix it tool and search history tickets, but no results. Attached file is my VBox log file Windows log file. Please help to check the root cause, any hint is very appreciate, many thanks!
