#16930 fixed LATEST.txt was not updated -> fixed Kartoffelbrei
Description

I use a script for updating the ressources from VirtualBox in an internal network. I use the latest file for getting the new version. http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/LATEST.TXT

In the moment it tells that 5.1.22 is stable but 5.1.24 is the correct version. Please update the files.

#17184 duplicate Guestaddition does not built in Ubuntu 17.10 17.04 and 16.04 Kartoffelbrei
Description

Dear Masters of Virtualbox,

I updated to Virtualbox 5.2.0 and started my Ubuntu Analysis machines in the new environment. The problem is that it fails to built the guest addition in all supported versions 17.10, 17.04 and 16.04 of the OS.

Here is my output on the bash in Ubuntu 16.04:

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing VirtualBox 5.2.1 Guest Additions for Linux........
VirtualBox Guest Additions installer
Removing installed version 5.1.26 of VirtualBox Guest Additions...
Copying additional installer modules ...
Installing additional modules ...
VirtualBox Guest Additions: Building the VirtualBox Guest Additions kernel modules.
VirtualBox Guest Additions: Look at /var/log/vboxadd-setup.log to find out what went wrong
VirtualBox Guest Additions: Running kernel modules will not be replaced until the system is restarted
VirtualBox Guest Additions: Starting.
VirtualBox Guest Additions: modprobe vboxsf failed
You may need to restart the Window System (or just restart the guest system) to enable the Guest Additions.

Press Return to close this window...

In addition I post the VBox.log and the /var/log/vboxadd-setup.log in attachment to this ticket.

Hope you can fix this :-(

Thank you for everything, Fake4d

#10865 fixed VirtualBox[669]: segfault at error 6 in VBoxREM.so Katana__
Description

Arch Linux host (fully up to date, running systemd + openbox) trying to run a Windows XP SP3 guest. Doing something slightly odd, but not very - running Virtualbox under its own x server, by way of a special .xinitrc line. I'll email a link to my .xinitrc line in my dotfiles github repo with the core dump (which is just under 5mb compressed with bzip2). Segfaults are occurring within minutes of booting up the guest system while in its own X server, but it doesn't seem to happen when started while running under openbox.

Emailing the core dump obtained in a few minutes.
