| #21078 | worksforme | /sbin/vboxconfig autoconf.h or auto.conf missing vbox 6.1.36 kernel 5.19 | ||
| Description |
Hi, I am having some issues with Virtual Box on Oracle Linux 8.6, I can't run the virtual machine because vboxconfig is failing. [root@xxxxxx build]# /sbin/vboxconfig vboxdrv.sh: Stopping VirtualBox services. vboxdrv.sh: Starting VirtualBox services. vboxdrv.sh: Building VirtualBox kernel modules. vboxdrv.sh: failed: Look at /var/log/vbox-setup.log to find out what went wrong. There were problems setting up VirtualBox. To re-start the set-up process, run
as root. If your system is using EFI Secure Boot you may need to sign the kernel modules (vboxdrv, vboxnetflt, vboxnetadp, vboxpci) before you can load them. Please see your Linux system's documentation for more information. [root@xxxxxx build]# cat /var/log/vbox-setup.log Building the main VirtualBox module. | #14723 | fixed | /sbin/vboxconfig does not work -> documenation fixed in releases after 5.0.10. | ||
| Description |
I upgraded to 5.0.8 on my Ubuntu 15.04 desktop. At the same time, Ubuntu also upgraded my linux kernel to 3.19.0-31. After rebooting, I cannot start any of my VMs due to the "kernel driver not installed" error. It tells me to run /sbin/vboxconfig as root, but running that command doesn't solve the problem. I cannot boot any VMs anymore. (Note that in the ticket version field, 5.0.8 is missing as an option.) |

| #12286 | obsolete | /usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox: corrupted double-linked list | ||
| Description |
I'm sorry, I don't have the steps to reproduce the problem, I can only tell you what I did before the crash.
This is approximately what I did, I'm sorry if it's vague. Attached to this report you will find the stack trace which, hopefully, tells you more things about the crash than I did. My system is Debian Wheezy 7.2 with all the latest updates. |
