| #16323 | fixed | 5.1.12 destroys images | ||
| Description |
Host: Windows 10 Guest: Ubuntu 16.04 Extensions Pack. Existing Ubuntu image originally created with 5.1.8 and updated to 5.1.10, as run from Windows 10 host. Procedure:
Luckily, I had an original clone from 5.1.10. I downgraded Virtual Box (and extensions pack) to 5.1.10 and everything is just fine. Thus, I am avoiding Virtual Box 5.1.12. Note to self / note to all - if you are contemplating upgrading virtual box, then make clones of all your images first. That way, such as in this case, where 5.1.12 destroyed my images, there is a backup / original starting point, for situations where the only resolution is to downgrade Virtual box. |

| #16319 | invalid | Add VirtualBox Extension Pack to repositories | ||
| Description |
Hi, Would be nice to have VirtualBox Extension Pack as a CentOS 6 rpm package on the VirtualBox repo. Would be nicer if it gets automatically installed when downloading/upgrading to avoid having to do something like: VBOXVERSION=`VBoxManage --version | sed -r 's/([0-9])\.([0-9])\.([0-9]{1,2}).*/\1.\2.\3/'`
wget -q -N "http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/$VBOXVERSION/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-$VBOXVERSION.vbox-extpack"
VBoxManage extpack install --replace Oracle*.vbox-extpack

| #16317 | fixed | Don't ask for upgrading the ExtPack if started by clicking .vbox-extpack | ||
| Description |
After installing/updating to a new version of VirtualBox I launch VirtualBox by double clicking the latest extension pack (*.vbox-extpack) file which starts the UI and brings up the window asking if I want to update the extension pack. The issue is a second later a window pops up asking if I want to download the latest extension pack, it would be nice if this window did not appear if VirtualBox was launched by double clicking the .vbox-extpack file. |
