#9998 obsolete perfectly installed Solaris 10 (no GUI) impossible to type into login prompt Simone Scarduzio
Description
  • install text based Solaris 10.
  • Successfully interact with GRUB (arrows work, return works)
  • Allow Solaris to boot and present the login prompt

DEFECT: Login impossible, guest OS is deaf to keyboard hits of any kind.

No known workaround, since no unprivileged users are available in the system for remote login. Root remote login is forbidden by default in Solaris.

#10000 obsolete Create Snapshot break VirtualMachine (lost snapshot or lost entire Virtual machine) Antimo Di Comite
Description

Hi have a Virtual Machine with two snapshot. It work fine but whenever i create snaphost / save state / restore snapshot randomly it stop working. Some times i found the .vbox file corrupted i.e <HardDisks/> tag is as i write empty with no data , but the snapshot are fully described. Last time i create a snapshot, restore a state and similar operation (2 or three operation for testing purpose) and the GUI show that the machine was "inaccesible". Restart the gui i see that i lost the last Snapshot (this time the <HardDisks> tag is not empty). I attach the vbox.log , and i have backup the machine so i can recreate the problem if it could be usefull to help to found a solution.

Thank you

#10003 obsolete Windows XP guest with enabled VT-x cannot start after XP host resume from standby. Other guest OS working fine (2003, W7). netuddki
Description

I have an Windows XP 32 bit (SP3 installed, OS language: HUN) host OS, and an Windows XP 32 bit (SP3 installed, OS language ENG) guest. When start host OS (computer) from off state, and starting guest, working fine. But i go send host to standby state, and resuming from this state, the guest XP cannot start anymore, until host OS restart. If i turn off in guest setting: "Enable VT-x/AMD-V", then XP guest OS can start all time (but in this situation, cannot use multiprocessor in guest, this is the major problem for me). Other guest OS running fine all time with enabled VT-x (eg. Windows 7, Windows 2003), just Windows XP 32 bit guest have this problem.

My short system specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 (Intel P35 Express Chipset)
CPU: Intel E8400 (Stepping E0)
