#9880 obsolete After upgrade to 4.1.6 on Win7 cant start VB - error: Can't create COM object Milan Oparnica
Description

OS: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit Processor: Core I3 RAM: 3GB Computer: Laptop ASUS UJ33 Bamboo (2010)

I've been using VB since 4.0.x version and applying updates each time they where published. Every time upgrade was smooth and successful, up to 4.1.4 version to be correct.

After upgrade to 4.1.6, VB cant even start throwing this error:

Virtualbox can't create COM object Callee RC: E_NOINTERFACE (0x80004002)

I run repair as administrator, although the upgrade was run under administrator account but the problem persisted.

Then I uninstalled the 4.1.6 version and installed the, previously working, 4.1.4 version, but got stuck with the same problem. Old version, working perfectly before the upgrade now couldn't start throwing the same error.

All attempts to repair it failed. I run System restore to the time before upgrade and installed the 4.1.4 again and now it worked normally. Then I repeated the upgrade to 4.1.6 (just to be sure) and the problem repeated in the exact way. I had to do System restore once more.

Since the system restore manages to fix things I suspect the problem has to do something with registry entries.

I attach the VBoxSVC.log file where you can track the error.
