| #4404 | fixed | Guest fails to boot about 75% of the time | ||
| Description |
VB3.0.0, host and guest are both Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit. About 75% of the time, when I attempt to boot the guest, the guest's boot process is interrupted before the GNOME desktop comes up. This only started happening once I upgraded to VB 3.0.0. My linux guest then sits at a command-line window, with text such as: [ 137.991145] end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 2414097 init: Unable to execute "/sbin/getty" for tty1: Input/output error init: tty1 main process (1371) terminated with status 255 init: tty1 main process ended, respawning init: tty1 respawning too fast, stopped If I click on Machine->Reset, the guest window freezes for about 30 seconds and VirtualBox pops up a window with the following text: "The IDE async I/O thread remained busy after a reset, usually a host filesystem performance problem. ERROR ID: DevATA_ASYNCBUSY Severity: Warning" If I power off the guest, then eventually I can get the guest to start correctly. Note that this guest uses ext4 (in case that makes a difference). |

| #4441 | obsolete | using arrow keys in the guest sometimes inserts numbers | ||
| Description |
I use my linux guest (with guest additions installed) as a C++ development environment. There are 3 editors I use, depending on what I am doing: gedit, Source Navigator, or Eclipse. Sometimes when I use the up or down arrow key to move around in my source file, VirtualBox will end up inserting numbers into the source. For example: I'll be at the top of a source file, wanting to move down, so I hold the "down arrow" key. After moving a certain number of line (let's say 30) I then see a huge sequence of the number "2222222222222222222222222" inserted into my source, as if I've stopped holding the down arrow, and as if I'm now holding the numeric keypad "2" button. Same thing with the "up" arrow inserting "8888888888888888888888888". This is not repeatable, but happens to me a few times per week. Also note this is not new behaviour: at one of my previous employers I was working at in late 2007, I ended up purchasing a new keyboard for my computer since we thought it was a keyboard hardware problem. |

| #4566 | duplicate | On a dual-screen setup, going into seamless mode on 2nd monitor makes guest dissapear -> duplicate of #2720 | ||
| Description |
My setup includes dual monitors. Host is Ubuntu 9.04-64bit, Dell computer /w NVIDIA GForce 8600 GT, using the proprietary NVidia drivers (version 180.44), running in "TwinView" mode. (Meaning I have 1 large desktop spanning across both monitors.) On my Windows and Ubuntu guests, if I go into seamless mode when the guest is on my 1st monitor, then everything works as expected. But if I go into seamless mode when the guest is on my 2nd monitor, then all the guest windows disappear. Only HOST+L brings back the guest. This has existed as far back as I remember with VirtualBox, but I never created a ticket for it since until recently seamless was a feature I rarely used. |
