#16606 wontfix GUI for Sharing Physical Drives AlephPi
Description

USB transfer is quite slow (#4261), I mainly use USB transfer for harddisks. Sharing the harddisk as a raw vmdk is much faster once you set up, but also requires dropping down to the command line and running obscure commands like

"C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" internalcommands createrawvmdk -rawdisk \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE2 -filename "C:\ProgramData"\raw2.vmdk

If I could share the raw disks and partitions by just going "Devices > Raw Storage > ..." in the GUI, similar to how USB is now, that would be much more convenient.

#16603 fixed Segmentation Fault on Enabling VNC while VM is Running (Patch availabe) Low power
Description

I has set up VNC as the VRDE. I just found that if I enable the VRDE to a VM that is currently running, for example

VBoxManage controlvm 7c4412d9-abea-4c68-9e35-b235ab6c4367 vrde on

then the VM process crashes as soon as the VM display content changes. The versions I tested are 5.0.26 and 5.0.36 on FreeBSD, and 5.1.10 and Debian GNU/Linux.

Example

Analysis

A null pointer 'instance->mScreenBuffer' was dereferenced in function VNCServerImpl::VRDEUpdate; but the only possible place the pointer was set non-null is VNCServerImpl::VRDEResize, the screen resize handler. If VNC is enabled in the middle in a VM session, the screen is probably won't get resized, and the pointer will always be null.
A easy fix could be to call VNCServerImpl::VRDEResize from VNCServerImpl::VRDEUpdate, if the pointer is currently null.

#16602 duplicate Windows 10 on Surface Book virtualbox install -> Duplicate of #16601 henrygh101
Description

I have a brand new Microsoft surface pro book with windows 10. I have the latest update. I even uninstalled the software, removed the files off the hard, removed from windows registery then reinstalled virtualbox. I downloaded the latest version of Kali Linux and I get the same problem. Windows crashes on me and restarts itself saying it is writing the report. I even reinstalled windows 10 and then did a update, downloaded a fresh virtualbox, fresh kali Linux and the system bombed out again. Is there anyway we can fix this problem?
