#3102 fixed Impossible to remove transient shared folders from the guest session Alden
Description

When I try to remove a transient shared folder from the guest session, I receive an error message after click on OK button. I can't post here the whole message as copy seems not work for it, but some data are:

Could not remove the shared folder 'C:' (VERR_PERMISSION_DENIED)

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x800004005)

Otherwhise, in My Network Places, in Local Network section is being showed a network folder from a previous removed transient shared folder which currently is not set.

My guest system is a Windows XP SP3 working with host interface, and my host is a Windows XP SP2.

#3358 obsolete Low perfomance on shared folders Alden
Description

In the new VirtualBox version (2.1.4) with Guest Additions 2.1.4 under a Windows XP SP 3 guest OS and a Windows XP SP 2 host OS, continues happening the issue of share folders performance, the performance of these is very slow.

It's supposed that shared folders should have a similar performance as local folders in the guest. However there is a huge performance difference between them, local folders are fast as they are supposed, but shared folders are very slow compared with them.

#16564 fixed Shared folder mount fails with "No such file or directory" after upgrade Aleko
Description

I have a Windows 10 host and several Linux (mostly Ubuntu) virtual machines created by Vagrant. After upgrading from 5.1.14 to 5.1.16 shared folder mount stopped working:

# mount -t vboxsf vagrant /vagrant
/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: No such file or directory

I noticed that Vagrant registered shared folder paths in the following format:

\\?\C:\Path\To\MyStuff

As soon as I removed the leading "\\?\" from the path, the mount command worked again.

After downgrading back to 5.1.14, the mount works again without any issues, so this looks like a regression in 5.1.16.
