#9585 obsolete Immutable disk mounted to multiple VMs crash on resume saved state VirtualBoxBug
Description

Immutable disk type has changed behavior or is broken. Previously we have used it to lock an OS disk and attach it to multiple VMs (which get their own difference files).

Now when attaching it as immutable to multiple VMs you can't start more than one VM and you get an error about read-only.

Suddenly for no apparent reason it started working with multiple VMs but there's a bug: When resuming saved state the VM freezes with corrupted display. Multi-attach works but sometimes it has the same bug.

#9589 obsolete Saving a snapshot, saving the VM, and restarting results in an error Ed
Description

Taking a snapshot and then closing the vm and saving state to disk results in an inconsistent VM.

To reproduce:

  1. Take snapshot
  2. Close vm and save state to disk
  3. Restart vm
  4. Get error

The error is: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows 7 golden. pdmblkcache#0: The VM is missing a block device. Please make sure the source and target VMs have compatible storage configurations [ver=1 pass=final] (VERR_SSM_LOAD_CONFIG_MISMATCH).

#9594 obsolete Losing X11 connection to Ubuntu guest VM on Mac OS Lion Marko Anastasov
Description

On Mac OS Lion's VirtualBox 4.0.12, I'm running Ubuntu server 10.04.02 for web development.

I'm connected to the VM via multiple ssh connections in terminal. One of the is "ssh -X vm", so I can run graphical programs on the guest. The problem is that after a couple of minutes this X11 connection is lost ("Error: cannot open display: localhost:10.0" when I run anything), and I need to create a new ssh connection to have it back.

I'm a Mac user since Lion, but my colleague has told me that this has not happenned with VirtualBox on Snow Leopard. I have not figured the exact pattern of what happens before the X11 connection is lost. Opening other ssh (non-X) connections could be a reason, although not immediately. I'm attaching my VBox.log file.
