| #9433 | obsolete | "IDE controller hotplug error" while connecting network cables | ||
| Description |
I have a virtual machine (Windows on Windows, though the problem is universal) created with a network adapter installed but its cable disconnected. After I run this machine, I open the "Devices -> Network adapters" menu, check the "cable connected" option and click OK. This should connect the virtual machine to the network, and did just that in 4.0 and older versions. In 4.1, however, I get a "Failed to save the settings of the virtual machine ... Controller 'IDE Controller' does not support hotpluggin". Which is entirely correct, the IDE controller is not hot-pluggable, but why am I getting this message while changing tne network settings?? This happens for all of my virtual machines. |

| #9451 | obsolete | Nokia 5230 USB issues, Ubuntu Lucid host, MS Windows XP guest | ||
| Description |
I installed a fresh copy of MS Windows XP inside VirtualBox on a Ubuntu Lucid host. Then I installed the Nokia software including drivers. After that, when I try to connect the phone via USB, it indicates the device "Nokia 5230 USB Parent" cannot be enabled by Windows. I tried switching to another kernel version, 2.6.38 instead of 2.6.32 and I tried VirtualBox versions: 4.1.2, 4.0.12 and 3.2.12. All gave the same behaviour. I also tried it both with and without USB 2.0 support. |
