| #13944 | obsolete | VirtualBox hangs my computer | ||
| Description |
I'm using VirtualBox on a Linux desktop machine to run Windows 8.1. It works pretty great except it often completely hangs the host machine so that I have nothing other to do than kill VirtualBox. Sometimes even killing it is impossible because my keyboard stops responding and I can't switch to the TTY, only hard reboot helps. I think it might be freezing because of high disk usage (based on the LED on my computer's front panel). This seems to happen totally randomly, sometimes while the guest is still booting, other times when I'm editing something in Visual Studio (I have to use it for work). My current host system is Fedora 21 (x86-64) but I had exactly the same problem on Ubuntu 14.04 with different versions of VirtualBox. |

| #20679 | fixed | VirtualBox should not wipe saved state after it fails to restore => fixed in svn/6.1.x x>26 | ||
| Description |
I tried to restore a VM from a saved state and there was an error. Now the saved state is lost and the VM is "Aborted". In such situations, I think it's reasonable to keep the saved state info/snapshot so that the user can try restoring again later, instead of deleting it. |

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000016, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000001b, IRQL
Arg3: 00000000, bitfield :
bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 83e68f21, address which referenced memory
