#10762 obsolete Shared Folders Fail Permissions on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit Guest On VB 4.1.18 On Win7 AMD64 bit Host Joe Jackson
Description

Guest Additions seemed to install per instructions, the shared folder setup functioned as directed, and the named shared folder appears under the Ubuntu media folder; but this folder fails to open, throwing a permissions denial. No reads or writes or lists function at all in the guest on the shared directory, neither in a file manager nor in a terminal window.

#17852 invalid [Hardenning Issues] - All proposed options tryed JCCJCC
Description

Hi,

I was working with vbox for a while without issues. This week I began working with a new laptop and I'm not able to start any kind of VM that worked before and I'm really stuck without being able to work.

I already tried every solution described in this forum and all the guidelines. Current status: Windows 10 Pro vagrant 2.1.1 virtual box 5.2.12

already tryed:

  • sfc /scannow
  • disable antivirus
  • hyper-v is disabled
  • several restarts and reinstallations of the VM of the VBox and several host restarts (always with "run as administrator")

In attachement there's the hardening log. Anyone have a hint on what could be the issue?

Thanks

#10219 fixed Low Host memory all the sudden JDCarroll
Description

All of the sudden I am getting "Low Host Memory" errors. The affected machines worked on Friday and had been working fine in some cases for months and months. Effects all guests (Win2k3 and RHEL). Can start machines if RAM lowered to 1024 or less. A SAVED machine that I have with 3G RAM starts/resumes fine. Nothing new or installed in meantime.

Attached log include: SAVED machine restoring STARTING_FAILING machine that worked before and now fails with 3G RAM STARTING_SUCCESS machine that worked before and starts with 1021 RAM NOT_STARTED machined that was shut down last awhile ago and I haven't had the guts to try yet
