| #9198 | obsolete | Standard QT QPainter class doesn't work with GL in linux guests! -> obsolete | ||
| Description |
Standard QT QPainter class doesn't work with GL! For example this code leads to crash: void GLWidget::paintEvent(QPaintEvent *event){
} Error Message: Vertex shader for simpleShaderProg (MainVertexShader & PositionOnlyVertexShader) failed to compile Fragment shader for simpleShaderProg (MainFragmentShader & ShockingPinkSrcFragmentShader) failed to compile QGLShaderProgram: shader programs are not supported Segmentation fault You can meet this problem also with the standard QT openGL Examples: /usr/lib64/qt4/examples/opengl/2dpainting (http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/opengl-2dpainting.html) /usr/lib64/qt4/examples/opengl/overpainting (http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/opengl-overpainting.html) and some others that use QPainter class with GL context. So I am using openSuse x64 guests with latest VB 4.0.10 and latest GA under Windows 7 x86 host. I have tested this problem on openSuse 11.3, 11.4, 12.1ms2 guests with different QT versions 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, but without success, the same problem everywhere. But on openSuse x86 11.1 guest with QT 4.3 it partially works! Please note, that the problem does not occur at all on linux hosts, so under any non virtualized openSuse with any QT version QPainter class is working fine with GL. I am developing QT GL visualization program and I need put some text over my 3d, but I am not able to do it since this issue! Thanks in advance! |

| #9201 | obsolete | Instructions on USB support is missing information. | ||
| Description |
Currently in the setup filter area for USB, you have the option to use vendor id, product id, serial number and also port. It does not explain how the port should be entered into the box. According to Windows 7 64bit, the port is listed as Port_#0001.Hub_#0010 for the USB soundcard I want to install in a VM. How do I enter this into the port box in Virtual Box? The devices I am using do not use serial numbers, so I have to distinguish by port. I am using Win 7 64bit as Host, XP as Guests. |

| #9207 | obsolete | VirtualBox won't start with USB Sound card plugged in. | ||
| Description |
I've read a few posts (I believe about older versions) where certain USB devices cause problems when connected to the system. I have a USB Sound Card with a C-Media chipset. When connected, VBoxSvc.exe consumes an entire CPU core (running it @ 100%), and neither the interface nor virtual machines will start. If I kill the VBoxSvc.exe, I get an error message about not being able to create the COM object (which I believe is as expected). No log file (VBox.log) is generated/updated when this occurs. My VBox.log for the VM was last modified 5 days ago when I used it last. I added the sound card 2 days ago, and this is the first time I've tried starting a VM with it attached. If I remove the sound card, everything works fine. I would like to be able to start VMs without disconnecting my sound card, I will gladly attach any log files requested if a one exists elsewhere (I couldn't find any). Please let me know what I can do to help track down the problem. |
