#3048 fixed some run-time asserts can be compile-time Dmytro Gorbunov
Description

I've found a lot of run-time asserts that can be complite-time using my script placed in http://savesources.com/public/scanStaticAssert.pl.txt

Part of output ..... /vbox/src/VBox/Devices/Storage/swab.h: Assert(sizeof(BMDMADesc) == 8); /vbox/src/VBox/Devices/Network/DrvTAPWin.cpp: Assert(sizeof(pThis->MacConfigured) == 6); /vbox/src/VBox/Devices/Network/DrvTAPWin.cpp: Assert(sizeof(pThis->abSendBuf) == RT_ALIGN_Z(sizeof(pThis->abSendBuf), 16)); /vbox/src/VBox/Devices/Graphics/DevVGAModes.h: Assert(sizeof(s->sr) >= 8); /vbox/src/VBox/Devices/Graphics/DevVGAModes.h: Assert(sizeof(s->cr) >= 24); /vbox/src/VBox/Devices/Graphics/DevVGAModes.h: Assert(sizeof(s->ar) >= 0x14); ....

#3050 fixed Error opening any virtual machines created in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 Shane
Description

I had MS Virtual PC 2007 and created 3 guests VMs. Then I heard about Sun xVM VirtualBox. I unstalled the MS VPC 2007 and installed a fresh Sun VB v2.1.x (latest version) on my Vista 32bit box. I tried to add the guest vm files using virtual media manager gui and I get the following errors in all of them:

Could not open the hard disk 'C:\vm\win2003.vhd' VDI: invalid pre-header in C:\vm\win2003.vhd' (VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_SIGNATURE). VD: error opening image file 'C:\vm\win2003.vhd' (VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_SIGNATURE). Result COde: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: HardDisk2 Interface: IHardDisk2 {ed6e2525-c2fd-42a4-917a-7a9045ac9e15}. Callee: IVirtualBox {339abca2-f47a-4302-87f5-7bc324e6bbde}

I do get the same error code opening any of the 3 guest VM that was created in MSVPC 2007. However I've noticed I can easily open VMDK files fine.

#3052 fixed Extremely SLOW Internet Download Using "Host Interace" Mode Samson Luk
Description

Normal download transfer rate of my ADSL connection is 350 - 400 kB/s
Gust OS = ubuntu 8.1 Desktop
Host OS = Winodws XP Home SP3

===The Guest either maintain a very slow transfer (below 20 kB/s) can prolong very long time=== http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o7/nozomiHK/2009-01-16_091741.png

===OR started at reasonable transfer rate (130 kB/s in this try, I've seen over 200 kB/s) but a few seconds later=== http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o7/nozomiHK/2009-01-16_093019.png

===Drop to 0 kB/s and cannot continue the transfer, retry with the same result=== http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o7/nozomiHK/2009-01-16_093043.png File transfer between Gust and Host using Windows Networking or Shared Folder method no problem.
