| #1755 | fixed | Solaris VM does not select the wifi device for Adapter 0 | ||
| Description |
When I created the Ubuntu VM it automatically selected my PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) Adapter Type which allowed networking to work immediately. When I created an OpenSolaris VM it selected the Wired Device which was not connected and when OpenSolaris booted up there was no network connectivity. I shutdown OpenSolaris and manually set the Adapter 0 to be PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) and restarted. At that point networking works well. When creating an OpenSolaris machine the wifi network driver should be selected just as is done with Ubuntu so that the installation experience is as good for OpenSolaris as it is for Ubuntu. Making the first 15 minutes a pleasure like it is for Ubuntu. |

| #1756 | duplicate | Outbound VPN PPTP connections fail | ||
| Description |
I have tried to create an outbound VPN PPTP connection to a remote server on both a Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) guest and Windows (SP3) guest. On Ubuntu, this fails with LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests On Windows XP, this fails with Error 619: A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed. This host is able to connect to the VPN server. It appears that this is due to the Virtualbox's inability to pass GRE packets through its NAT. See these forum threads for more: 1 2 |
