| #1663 | duplicate | NAT related crash | ||
| Description |
After my upgrade to 1.6.0 i am having problems. I upgraded to 1.6.0 on the 29th of May and experienced 2 crashes since then. The vm was running for over 2 months with 1.5.6 without any problem. There is ony one line related to these crashes in /var/log/messages on the host: 1st crash: VBoxHeadless[7972] trap int3 rip:2aaab04b0863 rsp:412a7c10 error:0 2nd crash: kernel: VBoxHeadless[32069] trap int3 rip:2aaaac4af863 rsp:412a7c50 error:0 There is nothing about this crash in /var/log/messages on the vm. I found these crash logs on the host: Log created: 2008-06-01T02:30:37.261990000Z Executable: /opt/VirtualBox-1.6.0/VBoxHeadless Arg[0]: /opt/VirtualBox-1.6.0/VBoxHeadless Arg[1]: -comment Arg[2]: opensuse10.3 Arg[3]: -startvm Arg[4]: 3b1a4d38-1210-402d-74a9-4913e56f31ee !!Assertion Failed!! | #1664 | invalid | Can't install VirtualBox on Hardy box that previously had VirtualBox-OSE
| Description |
Ok, so I should have done a little more digging up front rather than just using the add/remove to install virtual box on my HH box. I did not realize at the time that there were two versions of the VB install and the Add/Remove just installs the OSE version. I'd like to pull it off and install the normal version; however, when I do so, I get the following error: cannonj@slc34128843ulx:~/ziptest$ sudo dpkg -i virtualbox_1.6.0-30421_Ubuntu_hardy_i386.deb (Reading database ... 159687 files and directories currently installed.) Unpacking virtualbox (from virtualbox_1.6.0-30421_Ubuntu_hardy_i386.deb) ... dpkg: error processing virtualbox_1.6.0-30421_Ubuntu_hardy_i386.deb (--install): trying to overwrite `/lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/misc/vboxdrv.ko', which is also in package virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-16-generic dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: virtualbox_1.6.0-30421_Ubuntu_hardy_i386.deb Any help would be appreciated. | #1665 | wontfix | Phenom 9550, 2.6.25-amd64 host: linux guest does not work
| Description |
I'm using debian unstable. After upgrading to 2.6.25 kernel and Phenom 9550, I cannot start linux guests anymore. VM and bootloader starts ok, but guests stop working after writing "Ok, booting a kernel" or "Starting up" VB OSE 1.6 and SVN (1.6.53). Host: 2.6.25-amd64. Guests: 2.6.22-i386 (Ubunta 7.04 and Debian Testing). Custom kernels 2.6-24 guest kernel wrote "SMP motherboard not found" and halted too. FreeBSD guest works, btw. |
