| #8854 | obsolete | 3D accelerator issues | ||
| Description |
I am having problems with the graphics pre-processor in Salome-Meca-2011.1 and have found that the problem lies with the 3D accelerator in Guest Additions (v4.0.6). This program is part of a finite element program. The main window where one would work on a model disconnects from the program and the program freezes up. The error or warning message that shows up in the terminal window is: OpenGL Warning: No pincher, please call crStateSetCurrentPointers() in your SPU. There have been other posts where folks working with graphics programs such as AutoCad have experienced similar problems. The only solution at this point appears to be to deselect the 3D accelerator box in Display in the VBox Manager. I have the following hardware and software in use when running this program: AMD Turion II Dual-core Mobile M500 (1 core used under VirtualBox) ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics card, v8.632.1.2000 driver (128MB memory used under VirtualBox and 3D acceleration presently disabled) 4GB Memory (1600MB memory used under VirtualBox) Software: Windows 7 professional, 64bit. Oracle VirtualBox, v4.0.6, 64bit Linux Ubuntu 10.10, 64bit Salome-Meca 2011.2 and Code-Aster STA10.3, uses Salome 5.1.5 Hope this helps with finding a solution. Thanks. |

| #8856 | obsolete | Bridged Networking Problems with 4.0.6 | ||
| Description |
After updating from 4.0.4 to 4.0.6 network connections from outside the host (Win7_64) to the guest (Win7_32/bridged networking/fixed ip-address) break down periodically (after a few seconds and for a few seconds) and come back again. Ping requests from outside the host result in roughly 20 percent loss. Ping requests inside the host (guest to guest) work just fine. Problem appears without any firewall or other networking restrictions on host or guest. Bridged networking worked fine in 4.0.4 |

| #8858 | obsolete | Ubuntu 11.04 guest fullscreen graphics are broken with 3D enabled | ||
| Description |
My goal is to get Unity working, which requires 3D support. 3D acceleration works fine in windowed mode, even when maximized. Hovewer, when I then attempt to go to fullscreen mode, the guest display no longer redraws or responds properly: it looks like it's not drawing any 3D effects, and only redraws the screen when they have ended. If I leave fullscreen mode, everything works properly again. Sometimes, entering, leaving and entering fullscreen mode in quick succession solves the redrawing problem, but keeps the resolution the same as it was in windowed mode. Booting the VM into fullscreen mode has the same problem. The problem does not occur when 3D acceleration is disabled (but then obviously compiz/unity does not work). This problem is present in all 4.0.x versions of VirtualBox (I have not tested older versions than 4.0.0). |
