#2818 fixed OpenGL: Incorrect rendering of windowed applications Technologov
Description

When running windowed-mode OpenGL application, then there are rendering glitches.

Case 1:

For example moving OpenGL window does not refresh guest's desktop environment - and it becomes garbage until the OpenGL app is closed.

To reproduce:

  1. Open Google Earth
  1. Move Google Earth window across the desktop

It will result on garbage rendered on screen.

Case 2:

Another example: When running OpenGL app, and doing Start->Shutdown - the shutdown dialog that normally should appear on top of OpenGL window does not appear. So in this case sort ordering is incorrect.

To reproduce:

  1. Open Google Earth
  1. Start->Shutdown

Let me know if you want screenshots.

#2823 fixed Windows XP application freezes Franz
Description

I have been using vbox for more than a year now (to my opinion, a jewel of application), and have a bug to report that exists up to the current version 2.0.6. I have been using both 32 and 64 bit versions and they show the same phenomenon, on either dual or quad core Linux boxes with a variety of kernels up to the recent ones. I am running windows xp from vbox and get occasional freezes of applications (xxx not responding, not depending on the application). It occurs mostly when multiple demanding applications are open, and when numerous actions have been executed. The application freeze can always be unlocked by opening 'My computer' and clicking 1-3 times through the windows file system - at whatever level of file location. I have tried to 'fix' things at the windows xp side, by all sorts of optimizations and tweaks. It does help reducing the frequency of freezes without stopping them. I have also tried Frank Mehnert's suggestion to set the parameter 'force_async_tsc=1'. It seems to help to some degree, but does not solve the problem for once and for ever. I appreciate your suggestions Franz
